Destination wedding photography in Italy: your questions

Editorial and documentary. I photograph what really happens, in natural light, in colour and in black and white, and I pay as much attention to the details and the landscape as to the people. The pictures should look good on a printed page and still feel like your day, not a set.

Very little. During the ceremony and the reception I stay out of the way and don't interrupt. While you get ready and during your couple portraits I'll give you a few simple directions when they help, then let you be yourselves. You don't need to know how to pose: that part is my job.

The whole story: both of you getting ready, the ceremony, family and group photos, your couple portraits, the venue and the details, then the dinner and the party. Coverage usually ends about 30 minutes after the cake, unless we agree otherwise.

Of course. Before the wedding we go through the day together, and you can tell me about the people, moments or details that matter most to you. A short list of family groups is always useful, so nobody is forgotten.

I'm based on the Amalfi Coast and photograph weddings in Positano, Ravello, Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri and Naples, as well as across Italy: Tuscany, Lake Como, Rome, Venice, Puglia, Sicily. Abroad too: I travel anywhere in Europe and around the world for destination weddings. Travel and accommodation are agreed separately.

For weddings between July and October, 9 to 12 months ahead, and some dates go more than a year in advance. In the quieter months 4 or 5 months can be enough. If you already have a date, write to me: I'll tell you straight away whether it's free.

For most weddings I recommend two, so that nothing is missed when things happen in two places at once, like getting ready. For an elopement or a very small wedding one photographer is often enough. We decide together based on your day.

The studio never covers more than two weddings on the same day, and each one has its own team. You'll know in advance, and in writing, who will be photographing your wedding.

Yes, in my studio or on a video call. Usually we have a first call to get to know each other, and then plan the timeline together one or two weeks before the wedding, with your planner if you have one.

Yes. The contract puts in writing everything we've agreed: the date, the hours, the collection and any extras. Your date is reserved once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid.

It's rare, but it can happen for serious reasons. In that case a photographer from my team, at the same level and with the same way of working, takes their place, and you're told right away.

Rain doesn't stop anything. We adapt the plan: covered spaces, a different time for portraits, sometimes an umbrella and a few minutes of drama that end up among the best photos of the day. We talk about a plan B while building the timeline.

It depends on the hours, the number of photographers and whether you want film or an album. The collections are a starting point and can be adjusted. Send me your date and place and I'll reply within 24 hours with a proposal made for your wedding.

Yes, in the Welcome & Wedding and Wedding Day collections, whenever the regulations and the weather allow. The drone is flown by a licensed pilot and kept at a safe distance from you and your guests.

Yes. The albums are made by hand in Italy. I choose and sequence the images to tell the day in order, then show you the layout, in person or on a video call, and you approve it before printing. If you live abroad, I ship it to you.

Yes. Every collection includes a private online gallery with the edited images in high resolution, ready to download, print and share with the people you choose.

For photography only, within about 3 months of the wedding. With an album or a film, between 3 and 8 months. If you'd like to see a selection sooner, you can add a gallery preview within 30 days, and faster delivery is available on request.

No. What you receive is the finished work: edited, selected images in high resolution. RAW files and unedited footage are part of my process and are not delivered, as with most professional wedding photographers.

Both. If you'd like a film, I can bring in the video team I work with very often: on the wedding day it makes a real difference when photographers and filmmakers already know each other. Depending on the date it may be the lead filmmaker or one of his team, with the same style. The choice is always yours: if you already have a videographer you trust, I'm glad to work alongside them.
