The morning was spent in a frescoed palace apartment: the gown hanging beneath a chandelier, the bride's mother fastening its buttons, the groom in shirt and tie beneath gilt-framed paintings.
The ceremony was held at the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, with a white aisle of flowers among the columns of Piazza del Plebiscito. Portraits followed across the piazza at sunset, beneath the colonnade and on a monumental marble staircase.
The day ended on the hotel terrace, Vesuvius across the water and the lights of the harbour coming on. Photographed in an editorial and documentary style, in colour and black and white, the gallery is a Naples wedding at full scale.
