The morning was spent in rooms full of paintings and gilded mirrors: shoes and invitation on a checkered marble floor, Mara in her robe on the balcony and among the prickly pears, the dress hanging by the window, the women of the family fastening the veil. Lucio fastened his cufflinks on the sofa.
The ceremony took place in a white baroque church, Mara walking down the aisle with her father between banks of white flowers.
Back at the estate: portraits on the lawn at sunset, dinner in the courtyard under the lights, and a party with a live band that went on late. Photographed in an editorial and documentary style, the gallery holds both halves of the day: the quiet preparation and the glow of the night.
