How much does a wedding photographer cost in Italy?

What changes the price, what's included beyond the wedding day, and how payments work.

The price of a wedding photographer in Italy depends on a handful of choices you make. Here's what moves the number, and what you get for it.

In short

  • There's no single price: every collection is a starting point, built around your day.
  • The biggest factors: hours, number of photographers, album, film.
  • Travel and accommodation are agreed separately.
  • Compare what's included, not only the total.

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Italy?

Most couples ask what a wedding photographer costs in Italy in their first message, and it's a fair question. Prices vary a lot between photographers, so the most useful thing I can do is explain what changes it, and what you get for it.

As a very rough guide, a full wedding day in Italy with an experienced photographer usually falls somewhere between €2,500 and €6,000. Destination weddings with two photographers, a welcome dinner or a whole weekend often go above that, and an album or a film is added on top. Take these numbers as a picture of the market, not as a quote: the only reliable figure is the one in a written proposal for your day.

My collections range from a few hours with one photographer, which suits elopements, proposals and intimate weddings, to a full day with two photographers, an album and a wedding film. Every collection is a starting point that we adapt to your day, and I send you a written proposal once I know the date, the venue and what you have in mind.

What changes the price

Hours of coverage

Three hours for an elopement is a different job from ten hours that start with getting ready and end on the dance floor. Extra hours can always be added. More in how many hours of wedding photography coverage you need.

One or two photographers

Two photographers cover both of you getting ready and see the ceremony from two angles. For a full wedding I usually recommend two.

Album

A printed album means design, review rounds and printing. It adds to the cost and to the delivery time, and it's the part couples rarely regret. See why a wedding album still matters.

Film

A wedding film with one or two videographers is the biggest single addition. Photo and film from the same team keep the style consistent.

Travel

For weddings away from Naples and the Amalfi Coast, travel and accommodation are agreed separately and quoted in advance.

What you pay for beyond the wedding day

  • A call or meeting before booking, and help planning the timeline.
  • Coordination with your planner and the venue.
  • Selection and editing of every image, around 800 for a full day.
  • A private online gallery, and the album design if you choose one.
  • Backups of your files.

Two quotes with the same total can cover very different days. Compare the lists, not the numbers.

How payments work

30% on booking to hold your date, and the balance between three weeks before the wedding and the day itself, album and extras included. Everything is written in the contract.

Is it worth it?

I'm biased, but the practical answer is this: the photographs are one of the few things from the day you'll look at for decades. Spend where it matters to you. If the budget is tight, shorter coverage done well beats long coverage done in a rush, and I'll tell you honestly which parts of the day to keep.
