Tenuta Sant'Elia wedding, Andrano
Axel and Giulia, Italians living in France, came home to Salento to marry: a religious ceremony in the Basilica of Santa Croce in Lecce, then a Tenuta Sant'Elia wedding in Andrano, among honey-coloured stone, olive trees and prickly pears.

The morning unfolded in rooms with frescoed ceilings and pale blue walls. The dress waited by the door, the bridesmaids in sage-green silk cheered on the stone terrace, and Axel got ready by the pool under a clear Puglia sky.
After the ceremony, guests crowded around them in a square in Lecce. At sunset the portraits moved to the tenuta: the wooden gate, the long veil across the stone paving, the white wrought-iron arch in the garden.
Then the pizzica dancers pulled everyone in, dinner glowed under hanging greenery and lights, Giulia sang, and the cake was cut between fountains of sparks. Photographed in an editorial and documentary style, in colour and black and white.
