The morning was quiet and shared: jackets hanging beneath a print of the castle, one groom helping the other with his collar, bow ties fastened beneath painted portraits.

Each groom walked down the aisle through the frescoed hall, one with his mother, and the rings were exchanged in front of family and friends, with a tear or two along the way. Afterwards the couple walked by the river beneath the castle walls.

Dinner was served at long tables with greenery and candles, and a brass band played its way through the hall. Photographed in an editorial and documentary style, in colour and black and white, the gallery balances the weight of the architecture with the ease between the two grooms.
