The morning began in a room with silver balloons spelling BRIDE: lace robes, a tiara, the gown hanging by the wardrobe and a balcony over the vines. The rings waited on the Wedding Day Post, the couple's own newspaper, next to both sets of vows.

Thuraya walked down an aisle of white flowers to a gazebo in the garden. Then came the bridesmaids in pale blue, paper parasols under an ancient olive tree and portraits in the low evening light.

The evening opened with an Italian pizza party under bunches of tomatoes and a champagne tower, then moved inside for dancing until late. Photographed in an editorial and documentary style, in colour and black and white.
